AlHabib Muhammad Al-Baqir was the eldest son of Imam Ali Zainal-Abidin. He was called Al-Baaqir, meaning 'The Splitter' or 'The Opener', metaphorically inferring that because he was very knowledgeable and unchallenged he splitted and broaden the scope of education. He was born in the year 59H, during the lifetime of his grand father, Imam Hussein, and died in 114H.
